Welcome To Pacific Dermetology Treatment Center

Skin cancer treatment

Skin cancer most often results from prolonged sun exposure without proper protection. Tanning beds, another source of ultraviolet radiation, are also a contributing factor in the development of skin cancer. Once skin cancer has been detected, it can be treated by surgical removal.

Prevention is an important element in skin cancer treatment. Some of the most basic recommendations include: wearing a sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher on a daily basis and every two hours when in direct sunlight, avoiding the sun between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., wearing a large brim hat, and getting an annual skin examination by a dermatologist. Today’s protection prevents tomorrow’s sunspots, wrinkles, and even cancer.

Psoriasis

Psoriasis is a chronic, autoimmune disease that appears on the skin. It occurs when the immune system sends out faulty signals that speed up the growth cycle of skin cells. Psoriasis is not contagious but is not currently curable. However, it can go into remission and show no signs of disease. Ongoing research is actively making progress on finding better treatments and a possible cure in the future. There are many effective treatment choices for psoriasis. The best treatment is individually determined by the treating physician and depends, in part, on the type of disease, the severity, and the total body area involved

Eczema

Eczema is a group of inflamed skin conditions that result in chronic itchy rashes. About 15 million people in the U.S. suffer from some form of eczema, including 10-20 percent of all infants. Symptoms vary from person to person but often include dry, red, itchy patches on the skin which break out in rashes when scratched. Treatment of eczema may involve both lifestyle changes and the use of medications. Treatment is always based upon an individual’s age, overall health status, and the type and severity of the condition.

Rosacea

Rosacea is a common disorder that causes redness and dilated capillaries of the face. While the exact cause of rosacea is unknown and there is no cure, it can be treated. Facial redness occurs when facial blood vessels become damaged, lose their structural integrity, and remain permanently enlarged. Laser treatment for rosacea effectively reduces or eliminates the reddening associated with rosacea by interrupting the flow of blood to the skin’s surface. Laser treatment is safe, easy, and quick. After treatment, your skin will be clearer and smoother.

Hair loss

People who notice hair falling out, thinning, or appearing in large amounts on their comb or brush should consult a dermatologist. With correct diagnosis, many people with hair loss can be helped. A dermatologist will evaluate a patient’s hair-loss problem to find the cause so they can determine whether the problem will resolve on its own or medical treatment is needed

Wart, Cyst and Mole Removal

Warts, moles, and cysts can be removed quickly and easily using surgical techniques. Topical medications or laser treatments are also options for wart removal. Pacific Dermatology’s doctors have extensive experience in mole and cyst removal. You can have smoother, fresher skin after just one office visit.

Acne

Specializing in laser treatments, Pacific Dermatology is distinguished for its customized acne treatment plans. Through the pioneering efforts of Drs. Fung and Lee, patients can now take advantage of laser acne therapy, the latest and most effective method that has ever been available for the treatment of acne. It was Pacific Dermatology that first introduced the Bay Area to laser acne treatment, and they remain the only practice in the region to offer this state-of-the-art technology.

Unlike other forms of acne treatments, laser therapy is effective for all forms of acne, including whiteheads, blackheads, inflammatory, and cystic acne. Because it shrinks oil glands and decreases oil production, it is the ideal alternative to Accutane. Furthermore, it can also treat the problems that Accutane cannot address, such as scarring.

The results are produced more quickly than in other conventional acne treatments– oftentimes in as little as two weeks.

Individualized Care:
Physicians conduct an in-depth evaluation on each patient in order to create a personalized strategy, often utilizing a combination of methods to give optimal results. Other acne treatments that are offered include:

  • Oral and Topical Medications
  • Acne facial treatments such as microdermabrasion
  • Acne extractions (to remove whiteheads and blackheads)
  • Skin care products (Obagi®, Dermalogica, Jan Marini, Jane Iredale™)
